Jon's (Fuji) Film Simulations
For my X100V and X-Pro3! 🙂 Not exactly a ‘hidden’ page on my site, but welcome! Re-ording custom settings is a PITA but here’s my current ordering:
Currents:
1. B-DUB
My personal preferred Black + White film sim, based on Acros Punch (see below) but not quite as contrasty (Acros Red, Shadows only +1, CC off)
- Film base: Acros Red
- Grain Effect: Off
- Color Chrome Effect: Off
- Color Chrome Effect Blue: Off
- White Balance: Auto, +1 Red & 0 Blue
- Dynamic Range: DR200
- Highlight: +3
- Shadow: +1
- Color: 0
- Sharpening: +3
- Noise Reduction: 0
- Clarity: 0
- ISO: Auto
- Exposure Compensation: +2/3 or more as needed
2. Classy Neg 2
Sort of playing this one against “Urban” (based on Jamie Chance’s Chrome Urban) — I think I’ve had enough experience with film sims that I’m understanding what I want out of classic neg. I really like how it handles skin-tones in memory- making situations (homey moments, vacations, etc. — non-nature, non-landscape) and want to give it a shot.
Mostly Gajan’s “Classy Neg” (in this list) with a couple slight tweaks
- Film base: Classic Neg
- Dynamic Range: DR200
- Highlight: -2
- Shadow: -2
- Color: +2
- Noise Reduction: -2
- Sharpening: +2
- Clarity: 0
- Grain Effect: None
- Color Chrome Effect: Off
- Color Chrome Effect Blue: Off
- White Balance: Auto R1,B-1
- ISO: Auto
- Exposure Compensation: +1/3-2/3
3. Urban
For use in town/city life; buildings, stuff, indoors, day-to-day things.

- Color Chrome Effect: Off
- Color Chrome Effect Blue: Off
- White Balance: Auto, +1 Red & 0 Blue
- ISO: Auto
- Exposure Compensation: As needed
4. Warm Travel
Similar to Travel but based on Goughie’s Astia instead!
Added +2 sharpness and leaving clarity at 0 as to not slow down shooting experience. Also left out his grain preference.
